Prof. Youngseok Lee, the Principal Investigator of the Intelligence Genetics Lab, brings a wealth of academic and research expertise to the forefront of bio and fermentation convergence technology. Serving as an Assistant, Associate, and now Full Professor since 2013 in the Department of Bio and Fermentation Convergence Technology at Kookmin University, Prof. Lee has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in both teaching and pioneering research.
Prof. Lee's academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Life Science & Biotechnology from Korea University in 1999, followed by a Master's degree in Developmental Genetics from KAIST in 2001. In 2006, Prof. Lee obtained a Ph.D. from KAIST. The pursuit of knowledge continued with a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Department of Biological Chemistry, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Before his current role, Prof. Lee served as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Biology at Yonsei University College of Dentistry in 2012, further diversifying his expertise in the field.
As the PI of the Intelligence Genetics Lab, Prof. Lee fosters an environment of cutting-edge research and academic excellence. His leadership and dedication to advancing the understanding of drosophila genetics make the lab a hub for innovative exploration at the intersection of genetics. Prof. Youngseok Lee continues to inspire and lead his team in pushing the boundaries of knowledge in the dynamic field of genetics.

Engaged in research since junior year, I completed my master's and plan to continue in the lab till mid-2024.
