To close out on the skills I gained from beginning journalism, the craft of writing and reporting compete to be the most important in my journalism career and the ways they support my role on the InFocus staff. My first impression of journalism was that it was strictly writing and reporting. While this is evidently false, the foundation of journalism essentially is. In order to produce a good package, you need to write a solid script and the content of it needs to be accurately and have strong reporting. Because of the basic skills I learned in those fields, I believe that it has made me more a sufficient InFocus staff member, and gives me the upper hand when tackling big stories.
