CHARACTER OPTIONS
On this page will be listed the various official books and materials that are available to use in creating your character. As said previously, all the official material can be used, but if you're unsure, this list can be used to double-check whether or not the material you're thinking of is available. Of course, no material is out of question, though if you use something outside the list, do check with the GM first before you start building your character.
Every character starts out at Level 1, and stats are decided via point-buy. Depending on the effort put into the party of characters, each character may be awarded a Feat at the start of the campaign that reflects their character well.
Also remember that this is not a campaign that requires min-maxing. Do not be afraid to make your stats reflect your character, rather than aiming for "dump stats" and trying to raise your main damage stat as high as possible. Have little fun and be creative instead.
The list of official material is as follows:
Player's Handbook
Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide
Volo's Guide to Monsters
Xanathar's Guide to Everything
The Tortle Package
Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes
Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron
Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica
Acquisitions Incorporated
Eberron: Rising from Last War
Explorer's Guide to Wildemount
Mythic Odyssey of Theros
Tasha's Cauldron of Everything
Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft
Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos
Fizban's Treasury of Dragons
The Wild Beyond Witchlight
Elemental Evil Player's Companion
Locathah Rising
One Grung Above
Unearthed Arcana: Heroes of Krynn (Revisited)
Unearthed Arcana: Travelers of the Multiverse
Here, on the other hand, is a list of GM-vetted 3rd party content that can be used as you see fit.
Class: The Pugilist (DMsGuild - Benjamin Huffman)
Class: The Shaman (DMsGuild - Pattycakeee)
Class: Psion (KibblesTasty)
Class: Witch (Middle Finger of Vecna)
Class: Scholar (Charrmeleon)
Race: Aarakocra - Penguin Variant
Race: Mousefolk
Race: Sharkfolk (DMsGuild - The Arcane Athenaeum)
Race: Kitsune...? (I swear I saw a good one out there, somewhere, once...)
Background: The Displaced
Remember that everything here is with the caveat that things/classes/races can be adjusted in the future if they're found to be unbalanced in-play. Don't expect to sneak something OP/broken past the GM and live to tell the tale.
When creating your character, do not feel limited by how these races, classes, items and spells are traditionally portrayed in Dungeons & Dragons. As said before, this campaign will feature a homebrewed world with innumerable worlds, so there are no wrong answers. Indeed, with the previously mentioned anime influences, this means even more possibilities with what your character can be. A dragonborn can be reimagined as a scaled man with draconic ancestry, a harengon can be reimagined as a bunny-eared, humanoid fae, a bard can be reimagined as a more modern songstress whose power is their voice, and so forth and so forth. Take inspiration from multiple sources and let your imagination run wild!
