The position of SMOB was brought into conception to ensure that all student voices are heard and represented at the BOE. This means your vote holds the power to decide what kind of policies or conversations will be held at the decision-making level. AACPS SMOBSs are also unique in their possession of full voting rights, meaning their role is just as impactful as any other adult board member. If you want to see change then make sure to cast your vote!
After meticulous planning and preparation, CRASC has expanding SMOB voting delegations to include 15% of all schools at large population. Meaning you no longer have to be apart of your SGA delegation to vote. Anyone can vote!
Though voting delegations have been opened up to be larger and more diverse, there is still a limit on the number of students who can vote from each school.Â
To ensure you are properly registered first, talk to your schools SGA advisor to learn about how your school is conducting voting and if there are spots available. Then fill out the registration form that can be found above!
Register by April 17th!
