Hello again!
This is Indu and I am a junior at Glen Burnie High School where I am a part of the Biomedical Allied Health magnet program! I have a passion for the sciences and medicine (FUN FACT: My dream career since I was 5 was to be a cardiologist!). However, I also have an invested interest in social justice, student advocacy, and politics. Afterall political efficacy is the foundation to all modern change!
My journey with student leadership began in Elementary School, when in the 5th grade I started an Anti-Bullying Club as Student Council VP to address the uptick in bullying behaviors. We launched educational missions and activities to curb these issues. This initial spark of passion soon grew through my time in Middle School at Lindale Middle.
Here I served as SGA President where I organized numerous community building events and activities like Veterans Day Breakfast and fun Spirit days. This was also where I got my first CRASC (Chesapeake Regional Association of Student Councils) and MASC (Maryland Association of Student Councils) exposure after attending their General Assemblies. I was given the unique opportunity to meet with a plethora of passionate student leaders and activists who helped me grow as an individual and leader. This inspired me to get involved in CRASC, where I served in a variety of positions starting from Freshmen year to now. CRASC provided a wonderful platform to advance my work in student advocacy and leadership while simultaneously forming lifelong friendships. It is surreal to believe that my 7-year student leadership journey has led me here...But here I am and ready to bring more change!
