NO KINGS 3 Protest

Middleboro joins nationwide call for 'No Kings' | Nemasket

Thank you to the 250 people who showed our collective power in Middleboro—and to the more than 8 million across the country who stood up for democracy and rejected authoritarianism in the White House. Together, we made it clear that our voices matter and that we will defend our democratic values.

We came together to protest because we refuse to accept authoritarianism, executive overreach, and the steady erosion of democratic norms. Many people are alarmed that efforts are being made to make voting harder instead of easier, especially when those in power fail to offer real solutions that improve people’s lives.

We are also speaking out against the way immigration crackdowns are being carried out—operations that have resulted in Americans being harmed or killed, including Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Communities are deeply concerned about reports of people being pulled from their cars or homes without proper cause or warrants, actions that undermine civil rights and weaken the constitutional protections every person should be able to rely on.

People are raising their voices about the use of military force in multiple countries, including actions taken without prior congressional approval. Many are troubled by the lack of clarity about why these conflicts began and by the absence of empathy for the service members who are being injured or killed.

At the same time, families are struggling with the rising cost of living and the increasing price of everyday necessities. Economic pressure is pushing people to the brink, and they want leaders who recognize the urgency of these challenges.

All of these concerns point to a single, unifying theme: people are gathering because they believe core democratic principles, personal rights, and basic economic stability are at risk. This protest is a collective statement that communities are paying attention, that they expect accountability from those in power, and that they will not accept policies or actions they believe endanger the country’s future. It is a reminder that the public has a voice—and that voice will not be silent when institutions, rights, or lives are on the line.
