William Blake, a meek accountant from Cleveland, Ohio, was on the run after murdering a man who is the son of a rich frontier entrepreneur. From a major city to the wild west, Blake had to quickly adapt to the brutal life-or-death western culture on his way to his proper place in the spirit world, with help from a Native American spirit guide who went by “Nobody.” Jim Jarmusch brought his minimalistic style focusing on mood and character development to this psychedelic western and reimagined the western culture, the Native American culture, as well as the topics of cultural assimilation and identity discoveries.
