Mrs. Harrington started the Independence High School Winter Guard in the fall of 2019. The Varsity team was promoted in 2020 and 2022, and competed at the Cologuard Scholastic A1 level in 2023. Mrs Young joined the coaching team in 2023. A newly formed Junior Varsity team competed in 2023 at the Cologuard Scholastic Regional A2 level. Winter Guard tryouts are open to all students at Independence HS and Brambleton MS. Tryouts are in November of each year and the season can run through the first week of April.
