Indoor Percussion

Independence students participate in Indoor Percussion through the Rock Ridge Combined Percussion program, a collaborative ensemble that brings together student performers for the winter competitive season.

In 2025, Independence and Briar Woods students joined Rock Ridge to compete together for the first time, with nine Independence students performing in the production “Deja-Vu.”

In 2026, the collaboration continues with eighteen Independence students performing alongside Rock Ridge students in the program “Sketch,” under the direction of Justin Ratcliff and Henry Williams.

Also known as Indoor Drumline or Winter Drumline, Indoor Percussion consists of battery (drumline) and front ensemble (pit). Performances take place indoors, typically on a standard basketball court, and ensembles are judged in music, visual performance, and general effect.
