In the Ether

Normalizing the varied forms of grief and remembrance

Hello, I'm Julie.

I am an interdisciplinary artist and designer based in New York. My work examines the remnants of beings and place, and I consider it grief work—processing loss while honoring and celebrating through rembrance. I hold a BFA in Multimedia and Performing Arts from the Studio for Interrelated Media at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford. Following up on my artistic interest in End of Life, I have completed End-of-Life Doula (AKA "death doula") certification from University of Vermont, which bolstered my interest in legacy projects. More about me...

There is no "normal" when it comes to grief. Everyone grieves differently and may weave back forth between suffering and joy, but it is always in remembrance.
