Since 2023, I have taken on a ceramics practice, designing cremain urns, reliquaries, and altars, as well as exploring cremains in sculpture, in honor of my mother, Peggy Chen. My designs take inspiration from the things she loved (flowers and East Asian garden architecture) and my affinity toward American Craftsman design.

This little reliquary features a mini-vase lid, with two openings for buds and twigs. It has been bisque-fired and is ready for glazing. Stay tuned for how it will turn out!
