Badia is a Moroccan (Amazigh) woman living on the unceded ancestral lands of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm peoples. She is a loving mother with a big spirit who loves creativity, makeup artistry, and family.

Artist Statement:

The first image depicts a Palestinian woman who states three messages to herself and the world: أنا إمرأة فلسطينية التي مر عليها الزمن و قهرتها الحياة ولم ترى السلام  (I am a Palestinian woman who has passed the time and has been oppressed by life and has not seen peace), لقد قتلتم كل أطفالي ولن أركع للطاغية (You have killed all my children and I will not bow to the tyrant), أشكو حزني الي ربي أشكو حزني الي ربي (I complain of my sadness to my Lord). The second image is a depiction of a liberated Palestine in the future.

These two images reflect on resistance, strength, love, and hope. It reflects on the power of a mother, but the resilience of a community.
