Imaginary Expedition > House Concerts
Advance access to new music + shows:
House concerts are one of our favourite ways to perform.
We designed Imaginary Expedition to be heard up close. Two voices and classical guitar resonating naturally in a shared room, where harmony and small musical details can be heard without amplification or effects.
Interested in hosting us? Once a year, we choose someone from our community to win a free Imaginary Expedition house concert. Use the form below to inquire about hosting us, with the option to enter the annual giveaway as part of your submission.
House concert inquiries are welcome from anywhere. The 2027 giveaway is open to concerts taking place in Southern Ontario or the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM).
House concerts leave more room for conversation. The performers are your guests, the audience is made up entirely of people you chose to invite, and the evening unfolds entirely for you and your community.

"Hearing Imaginary Expedition play is like sitting around a campfire with old friends who gently shower you with love from their hearts."

There is no minimum audience size. We have played house concerts for 8 people gathered on cushions and for 45 people in folding chairs. You decide what your space can comfortably hold.
You do not literally need a house. Living rooms, cottages, studios, patios, condo common rooms, community spaces, and similar gathering places can all work.
Have a piano? Let us know. Glyph is also a classical pianist, improviser, and piano technician, and we may be able to incorporate it into the concert.
Our house concerts are usually 60–90 minutes of music, generally with a break.
During the songs, we ask guests to treat the room as a listening space; there is plenty of time to talk before and after the performances.
Our music won't disturb the neighbours. Because we perform without amplification, you won't need to worry about violating any noise complaints.
Our lyrics do not contain mature language. Children are welcome to attend, though our music is not written specifically for young audiences.
We are based in Toronto and can most easily arrange house concerts throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario, and Montréal.
We do not charge additional travel expenses for house concerts in our local region.
To arrange a house concert farther from our home, hosts may need to cover some or all transportation and, when necessary, provide us with a place to sleep. Being able to stay overnight can also mean we do not need to rush away immediately after the concert.
We can perform anywhere in Canada or the United States, including U.S. Territories. Victoria is a dual citizen of both Canada and the United States; and Glyph is a U.S. Citizen and Canadian Permanent Resident.
We are open to performances elsewhere in the world. Entry and work requirements for visiting musicians vary by country. International concerts may require additional paperwork, fees, and advance planning, so are considered case by case.
