Imaginary Expedition in the media
"Tremendous band"
— Hugh Ambrose Folk Everything, CFRC 101.9 FM Kingston, ON 2026 March 2026
"Each song leads listeners on a journey through their own imaginations"
— Rushan J. Indie in the City, CFMU 93.3 FM Hamilton, ON April 2026
"Arrangements beyond traditional folk conventions. The duo’s sound combines counterpoint vocals with intricate instrumental work. Glyph’s classical influences shine through his guitar playing, while Victoria’s melodies bring a contemporary edge."
— Kurt Hauswirth Classical Music Host, NPR Radio 90 WNMU FM Upper Great Lakes, MI November 2024
Industry recognition
"Music that feels like it's just for you in a crowded room. Imaginary Expedition, the Toronto-based emerging duo of Glyph Greenleaf and Victoria Dobbs, performed a stellar set at the Winterfolk Blues + Roots Festival (February 2026) to an engaged, involved, and most appreciative audience. Their natural chemistry—rooted in their partnership on stage and off— is unmistakable in a playful performance, drawing listeners deeper into their intimate circle. Glyph’s vocals, as well as his classically trained, highly expressive and distinctive guitar technique, are complemented by Victoria Dobbs’ rich harmonies and deep insight. They perform with the confidence and presence of seasoned, veteran artists."
— Brian Gladstone Festival Director Winterfolk Blues and Roots Festival Toronto, ON
"Terrific! The artful duo, Imaginary Expedition, is as true a pair of artist-songwriters-musicians as you might have drifted past on a sidewalk in Haight Ashbury... Their songs ring like chimes on a porch, or like the sound of waves by the ocean, and their harmonies fill the heart."
— Rick Berlin Festival Director JP Music Festival Boston, MA
"Impressively distinguished. warmly engaging music and melodies in conjunction with sweetly original concepts... impressive talents!"
— Songwriters Resource Network Portland, OR
"The message is so pure and sweet. the melodies have a slightly madrigal flavor ... gorgeous!"
— SongDoor Nashville, TN

"This show was a magical, soul-soothing experience. More and more artists are feeling the call back to themes of nature and genuine human connection. Imaginary Expedition are doing it flawlessly."
— Krystal Jessup Audience member Instagram story Toronto, ON
"Thank you tremendously for your beautiful performance"
— John Tyson historical performance expert, New England Conservatory of Music faculty Cambridge, MA
"Glyph's playing throughout is just so compelling. It's perfectly played, eminently tasteful, and deceptively intricate. Impressive, but just to the degree that it serves the song, and no more because nothing more is needed."
— JD fan review of Imaginary Expedition’s recorded works San Francisco, CA
"Beautiful souls... lovely voices who remind me of my connection to nature and other humans. Hearing Imaginary Expedition play is like sitting around a campfire with old friends who gently shower you with love from their hearts."
— Jazz Redmoon audience member Toronto, ON
"They were so incredible... they were just so beautiful"
