Direct Numerical Simulation OF Particle-Laden FLOWs

The workshop is funded by the  Institute of Eminence (IoE) scheme Seed Funding for Collaboration and Partnership Projects (SCPP) for the project "Direct Numerical Simulations of Hail Formation" and will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at IIT Bombay.

The principal lecturer is Professor Pablo Mininni of the Department of Physics, University of Buenos Aires. 

Prerequisites: Familiarity with the Navier-Stokes equations and computer programming in FORTRAN.

The hands-on sessions will be conducted with GHOST, a versatile massively parallel solver in FORTRAN: https://github.com/pmininni/GHOST

Please bring your laptops to the hands-on sessions.

Please brush up on FORTRAN: https://fortran-lang.org/en/learn/ FORTRAN2003 is quite friendly (compared to older versions).

Please try and install GHOST on your laptops beforehand (this will require installing some prerequisites which should be good practice).
