ISE Software, relevance and alternatives:-
Monday 13th of December, IEOM-KFUPM students' chapter held a webinar with Dr. Syed Mujahid, Assistant prof in the ISE department.
The discussion was regarding the importance of ISE software for ISE graduates. Dr. Syed mentioned related areas of industrial engineering that concern students and graduates, like optimization, statistics, simulation, and data science. Dr. Syed gave suggestions to software used in these areas, with an insightful comparison between commercial and open-source software.
More than 25 students attended the webinar and their insights and experiences.
Thanks to Dr. Syed for his cooperation to share such insightful information in the webinar.
Talk with ISE alumni, Marketing and Engineering:-
Wednesday 8th of December, IEOM-KFUPM conducted an online webinar with Engineer Mohamed Altajer, Chairman of CMO Council - Middle East.
The friendly talk aims to answer some of the questions regarding Eng. Mohamed's career, for example, the reasons behind his decision to work in the marketing area with an IE degree, how he navigated his path to reach where he is now, and many exciting questions more.
The webinar was a real success due to the presence of one of the great successful KFUPM Alumni and inspirational personalities such as the one Eng. Mohamed has. Moreover, two of our colleagues from IEOM-PNU joined the event with more than 25 attendees. IEOM-KFUPM would like to thank them for accepting our invitation, and we are looking forward to more collaborations in the future with them.
COOP/SUMMER TRAINING Meeting:-
On 10th of November, IEOM-KFUPM students chapter held a COOP/SUMMER TRAINING meeting with the presence of Mr. Rami Busbait. In the meeting, MR. Rami discussed the steps toward a successful experience in their training. He also pointed out common mistakes students make on their journey. Among the points mentioned by MR. Rami was the importance building network, taking notes, developing a love for learning, and being enthusiastic.
Moreover, a group of students shared their experience in the training program with companies like Baker Hughes, McKinsey & company, and Tamara.
Thanks for all students for sharing their experience openly, Nizar Nour, Abdullah Alasiri, Hamed Alotibi, and Abdulaziz Alrashed.
More than 30 students attended the meeting with excitement for learning. The meeting was held at building 60 at KFUPM.

On Tuesday the 9th of November, the IEOM-KFUPM student chapter held a meeting with the chairman of the systems engineering department to improve communication and collaboration between the two, and to discuss strategic plans of the chapter to maintain its level of quality.

Moreover, the chapter took this opportunity to hold a ceremony celebrating and honoring the former president of the chapter, and some of the former active members for their untiring support and contribution to the success of the chapter.

IEOM-KFUPM conducted last Monday "10 years in Engineering school" seminar by Mr. Suhail Shami, an organization advisor at Aramco. The interactive Seminar located on the campus was attended by nine students, as the Engineer summarized his academic journey in three words: trust, flexibility, and practicality. Engineer Suhail described for the attendees how to navigate the career path till reaching the desired achievement seeking. The event was a real success due to Mr. Suhail's inspirational story and his precious career advice.

On Tuesday April the 7th IEOM-KFUPM conducted a webinar titled “The Role of Robotics Process Automation in Business Optimization “. Mr. Malik Abduljabbar, a Business Analyst at Deloitte Digital, discussed the implementation of (RPA) and its impact on the automation process. Also, he shares his experience on how to learn and develop RPA skills. Finally, he conducted a Q&A session with the 40 attendees.

To cope with current situation of Virtual classes, IEOM-KFUPM conducted a webinar about "Product Management" on Tuesday March 17th through Zoom software, and it presented by Mr. Mohammed Alsayyari, Senior Product Manager at Elm. Alsayyari initiated the webinar discussing the role of product managers, and the skills required to be a product manager. He also mentioned some of the tools that are used mostly by product managers like, Jira, Confluence ... etc. Finally, he discussed how an industrial engineer would be fit a product manager and held a Q&A session for the last 20 minutes. The webinar was a huge success with more than 150 participants! It took place from 8 to 9:30PM, and it got many praises and thanks from the attendees, and IEOM-KFUPM team was encouraged to conduct more webinars in order to provide the best to the industrial engineering society.
