The workshop was titled “R Software”. Dr. Harun Pirim presented it on the 26ᵗʰ of March and the 2ⁿᵈ of April with a total of 6 training hours, with total 31 attendance. Dr Harun explained the importance of R software worldwide and how beneficial it is to engineers, and showed examples of how to work with the software.
The workshop was about safety and health standards according to OSHA, Eng. Abdalrzak Aldean started it by introducing what is OSHA, then moved to more specific situations and guidelines that must be followed to guarantee the safety of workers such as fall protection, electrical hazards and emergency exits. The workshop ended successfully in two sessions held on the 11ᵗʰ and the 18ᵗʰ of March 2019 with 50 people attending it.
The event was a meeting to share several experiences in the Coop program. Starting from the Coop application through the company sectors, which the student applied in, ending with advices and how to end up with the best coop experience. It was conducted by five KFUPM senior students, and It was held on 17ᵗʰ March 2019. The attendance was 20.
Zamil AC factory visit :-
The visit was to Zamil air conditioners factory, and it was held on the 7ᵗʰ March 2019 with 25 people attending it. The visit started with introducing the layout of the factory followed by explaining the role of the different facilities and what is the types of products that are produced in this factory. Afterward, there was a tour around the factory in each part there was an explanation of the role of industrial engineers.
King Fahd International Airport :-
The visit took place on the 21ˢᵗ of January. The 21 students attending had the chance to be introduced to the new vision and mission of King Fahd Airport, and knowing the role of industrial engineers in airports. The visit then was followed by a tour through the airport’s facilities. It was a major success for IEOM and KFIA.
Applied Data Analytics :-
Applied Data Analytics was a course offered for 6 sessions, and lasted from the 20ᵗʰ of January to the 10ᵗʰ of February. It was conducted by Dr. Hany Osman which he covered many important objectives concerning Data Analytics. Interpreting data via U-SQL software, and the best methods used in analyzing data were objectives well presented to 40 students.
Dr. Solomon Almadi conducted a seminar by the name “Cyber Security”. He introduced the role cyber security plays in the 4th industrial revolution, the importance of cyber security and how to integrate security in systems. The seminar took place on the 10ᵗʰ of February with 52 people attending it.
A course presented by Dr. Syed Mujahid regarding GAMS software, and it was held on the 22ⁿᵈ and the 29ᵗʰ of January. The course came across many important sides to GAMS, what is GAMS ?, how important knowing GAMS is, how to solve OR models using GAMS. 50 students attended the course and had a total of 6 training hours.
Introduction to Supply Chain Management :-
Dr. Ahmad Al-Hanbali conducted the workshop on the 28ᵗʰ of January. The workshop focused mainly about introducing the term Supply Chain to the students, and examples from the real life were given via simulation games. It ended successfully with 45 students attending and 3 training hours.
Introduction to Python programming :-
The workshop was for beginners who wish to learn programming by Python, and it was conducted on the 16ᵗʰ of January. The importance of knowing how to use Python was discussed, and Eng. Abdalrzak was quite helpful for the 60 students who attended.
The seminar was presented by Mr. Mesha’al Alghamdi, a demand planner at Unilever KSA. Mr. Mesha’al mentioned many issues such as when to succeed?, plans and ways for succession in every aspect of life, how to self-develop and motivate ourselves and the effect of a successful society on the individual. The attendance was 25 and the seminar was held on the 28ᵗʰ of November.
The meeting was regarding Co-op opportunities experiences, which during six KFUPM senior students that worked for major companies shared their experiences to the attendees and took questions from them. The meeting was quite helpful for a lot of students who applied for Co-op, and it was held on 13ᵗʰ of November with 25 students attending it.
Project Management Professional (PMP) :-
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Mohamed Elhout, projects planning and control specialist with a PMP & PMI-PBA credential. It was held from 7ᵗʰ to 11ᵗʰ of November, it was held for total of 25 hours. The attendance was 33. The workshop was well welcomed and beneficial.
4ᵗʰ industrial revolution :-
The seminar was titled “Future jobs in the era of the 4ᵗʰ industrial revolution”, and it was conducted in the 5ᵗʰ of November. Mr. Meshari Alsuwaiyan a KFUPM alumni and a project manager at MODON presented the seminar starting with explaining what is the 4ᵗʰ industrial revolution and the new redundant job roles created and finishing by enlightening the attendees by initiatives to tackle the revolution. The attendance was 35 students who contributed in the success of IEOM KFUPM's first activity
