Early College Credit Opportunities
Early college credit programs offer students opportunity to earn college credit while in high school.
Articulation is a process in which high school CTE courses, taught at the high school by a high school CTE teacher, are deemed equivalent to college CTE courses through a formal agreement. College credit is awarded to students that successfully pass the course according to the terms of the agreement.
Dual enrollment allows students to complete college-level coursework to earn college credit while they are pursuing their high school diploma. Different models exist with variations in who teaches the courses, where the programs are offered, and who can participate. Typically, the term concurrent enrollment is used when high school students attend class on the community college campus, and dual enrollment refers to students participating in community college courses on their high school campus.
