Project brief

The goal of MOOSBU is to develop an AI-powered business mobile app that provides an all-in-one solution for businesses to elevate their operations, streamline various business functions, boost marketing efforts, manage logistics, access cashflow financing, and support overall business growth. The primary objectives are to enhance operational efficiency, facilitate access to financial resources, and empower businesses with intelligent marketing and growth strategies

The current problem

Problems:

1. Inefficient Business Operations: Businesses struggle with managing multiple aspects of their operations, resulting in inefficiency and wastage of resources.

2. Limited Access to Financing: Many small and medium-sized businesses face challenges in accessing the necessary financing to support their business development.

3. Marketing and Growth Hurdles: Businesses encounter difficulties in developing effective marketing strategies and implementing growth initiatives.

Target Users

Small and medium-sized businesses across diverse industries looking to streamline their operations, secure financing, and enhance their marketing and growth strategies.

My role

On this project, I lead the design process from start to finish. I was responsible for creating the user interface and ensuring that the user experience is intuitive and seamless. This includes conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and iterating on designs based on user feedback. I worked closely with the development team to ensure that the final product meets both the design and technical requirements. I also collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that the final product aligns with the overall project goals.

The process

In this project "MOOSBU, an AI Powered Super Business App," we employed lean UX principles (Think, Make and Test) to design and develop a comprehensive solution that meet the varied needs of business operations.

User research

1. What are the current manual business processes you use for inventory management, customer relationship management, and sales forecasting?

Insight from user research

Competitive analysis

I started by identifying the key competitors in the market. This involved researching and studying other similar business management tools and apps that offer features related to running, growing, and streamlining business operations, managing logistics, and accessing financing. Next, I analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of each competitor, particularly in comparison to the key features and capabilities of MOOSBU. Furthermore, I sought to understand the target market and customer feedback for these competitors to gauge their satisfaction and pain points which was done through online reviews. By conducting this competitive analysis, I gained insights into market trends, customer needs, and potential gaps in the current offerings

User persona

User persona was created based on research and data about the actual users to understand the target audience and their specific needs. This helped the development team to empathize with the users and understand their needs, leading to the creation of a more user-centric app. It also ensures that the features and functionalities of the app are tailored to the specific requirements of the target audience.

User Journey Map

In order to effectively understand the user experience and how they interact with the app, I carried out user journey map. I mapped out the entire user experience from the moment user hears about the app to the point where they become a regular user. Overall, the user journey map was a crucial tool in helping me understand the user experience and in making data-driven decisions about the design and features of the MOOSBU app. It allowed me to empathize with the users and to create a better experience for them, ultimately leading to a more successful product.

In this project, I carried out user flow to ensure a seamless and intuitive experience for users interacting with the app which is crucial in ensuring that users can easily navigate through the app, access the various features, and achieve their desired goals effectively.

Onboarding: The onboarding process for MOOSBU was designed with the goal of making it easy for users to get started with the app and understand how they could leverage its capabilities to elevate their business. By providing a seamless and engaging onboarding experience, I aimed to set users up for success and ensure they could quickly start reaping the benefits of using MOOSBU in their day-to-day operations

Home page: I focused on creating a user-friendly interface that provides quick access to key business metrics and functionalities. The homepage is designed to be clean, with a clear layout that highlights the most important information. At the top of the homepage is prominent link to the user's store, making it easy for them to access and manage their online storefront which enhances the convenience and efficiency of using the app for business operations. I also included a summary of the user's wallet balance and store revenue, giving them an immediate snapshot of their financials. This allows users to quickly see how their business is performing at a glance. Below the financial information, I included a section for business overview, which provides a more detailed breakdown of key metrics such as sales, customers, and conversions. Finally, I included a section for other operating systems (OS), such as store front, marketing suite, scale by Moosbu, Integrations and other OS. This allows users to manage their business operations.

Analytics: To design the sales, products, and customers analytics, I utilized various data visualization techniques to create graphical representations that help users easily interpret and analyze their business data. These provide users with a comprehensive view of their business data, enabling them to make informed decisions and drive business growth.

The marketing campaign: This feature allows users to send targeted campaigns to their contact groups. This feature is valuable as it enables users to reach out to their customers in a personalized manner, leading to higher engagement and conversion rates. Users can send campaigns to contact groups created by all customers, by date of purchase, or by custom contact groups. The campaigns can be sent via SMS, Email or WhatsApp, providing users with multiple communication channels to connect with their customers. This feature empowers users to effectively promote their products or services, drive sales, build strong customer relationships elevate businesses marketing efforts, streamline operations, and ultimately grow their business.

Product:This allows users to upload and categorize their products to help businesses streamline their operations and effectively manage their inventory. When products are uploaded, detailed information such as product descriptions, prices, images, and any relevant tags or keywords are provided. Users can also categorize the products within the app, making it easier for users to navigate and organize their inventory. By categorizing products, users can quickly find and access specific items when needed, track their inventory levels, and analyze sales data for each product category. This feature also allows users to easily update product information, add new products, and remove outdated items from their inventory

Integration: This allows users to seamlessly integrate their logistics and payment options into the app. This feature enables users to easily manage their inventory, track shipments, and handle orders all within the same platform and ensure timely delivery of products to customers. Users can also integrate their payment options into the app, allowing for smooth and secure transactions with customers. This feature enables users to accept various payment methods, cash, payment on delivery, credit card payment making it convenient for customers to make purchases.

AI: The AI bot feature in MOOSBU allows users to ask any questions related to the business, such as how to streamline operations, boost marketing efforts, manage logistics, access cashflow financing, or grow their business using the app. The AI bot uses artificial intelligence algorithms to understand and interpret the user's questions, providing relevant and accurate responses based on the information available in the app. This feature enables users to quickly access information and guidance on various aspects of running a business, making it easier for them to make informed decisions and improve their overall business performance. Additionally, the AI bot can also provide personalized recommendations and suggestions based on the user's specific needs and preferences, helping them to optimize their business operations and achieve their goals more effectively.

Other screens: There are over 50 plus other screens in the app that cater to various functions and operations of a business. These additional screens cover a wide range of features such as tracking sales, analyzing business performance, creating marketing campaigns, and accessing cashflow financing, wallet, subscription. Each screen is designed to streamline operations, boost marketing efforts, manage logistics effectively, and ultimately help businesses grow and succeed.

Key Takeaway

Key learnings from this project:

I understood the needs of small businesses and how AI can help them streamline their operations and grow their business effectively. I also learnt how important it is to develop a user-friendly interface and ensuring that the functionalities are easy to use for business owners. Moreso, providing a comprehensive solution that addresses multiple aspects of running a business can attract a wider customer base.Lastly, understanding the target audience's needs and pain points is crucial in developing a successful product.

Challenges faced during the project:

Developing and integrating AI technology into the app while ensuring it is accurate and effective in helping businesses. Developing a complex app that integrates multiple features and functionalities can be challenging and require a significant amount of resources.

Result from this project:

The app reached 100 plus downloads in a month, showcasing its effectiveness in aiding small businesses. This achievement demonstrates that the app is meeting the needs of business owners and it is gaining traction.
