Delivery Cog
The Project Overview
Project brief
Delivery cog is an online delivery platform that allows users to send or receive packages from one place to another by enabling users to provide pick-up or drop-off locations. It will provide fast and reliable door to door delivery service.
The problem
The basic challenges that promoted this project is the need for people to send any form of goods from the comfort of their home, offices or anywhere they are, The fast advancing, posses is the need for people to stay in their homes and get their goods delivered to their doorsteps or sent to expected location as well as being confident that the sevices is in safe hands
The goal
The goal of building this app is to create a platform where individuals, business owners meet with courier service providers and drivers for door to door delivery at a reasonable cost as well as getting a safe delivery and save stress.
My role
In this project, we were a team of 5 (2 product designers, product manager and 2 developers). I was responsible for the Visual design, prototyping, wireframing, user research and end to end UI/UX process.

User Research
From the user research conducted, the following were discovered:
Users are frustrated and inconvenienced for not being able to deliver on schedule
Fear of broken or unfit delivery for its purpose
Timeliness of delivery
Users are frustrated about pickup not happening as expected or the delivery being sent out to the wrong address
Users want to be discovered for courier service
User Personas
To create a user centric product, we created user personas that serve as a visual representation of our users. This helped us visualized and understood our target users.
Empathy map
This was created to capture knowledge about our user’s behaviours and attitudes so as to better understand them.
User Journery Map
From the user research conducted, the following were discovered From user research we conducted, user journey map was created to give a visual representation of user's experience, which covers selected experience user might have while interacting with the website.
User flow
User flow was created to show the path taken on the website to complete main tasks such as requesting for delivery and adding a trip. The flow takes user from their entry point through a set of steps towards a successful outcome and final action
Solution summary
To design an app that helps fulfil the user`s goal which is to make delivery request, see driver’s and car profile, negotiable delivery price, discover available driver for delivery the following features were added:
Users are allowed to send or receive delivery by adding a Request Delivery section
A feature that allows driver to indicate if their price is Negotiable or not is added.
User requesting for delivery are enabled to see drivers and cars information entered
Section that allows driver to either select if they want to pickup from pickup address or enter a specific pickup address is included.
A feature that allows driver to Add a trip is included so that they can be discovered as available driver for delivery
Low-fidelity Wireframes
Wireframes was created to outline blueprints for web pages or app screens so as to help
communicate the product's “big idea” rather than the specific details. The low-fidelity wireframe were created in in Figma, here are some pages from the wireframes:

Add a trip
User can easily add a trip by adding a departure time & date and other necessary information. After the add trip screen page, extended add trip page is included to have the full trip information.
Request delivery
in the available request page, user can accept or decline delivery request. Trip details are also viewed under the trip details page which also entails requester contact information.
Available request and trip details
in the available request page, user can accept or decline delivery request. Trip details are also viewed under the trip details page which also entails requester contact information.
User testing
We carried out a Usability Test to get user`s feedback and make improvements on the
functionality of the app. Users were given tasks to complete the main user flow. The usability
testing was conducted remotely in ann unmoderated way . Users areb asked to think out loud.
Two tasks were attempted by 8 participants. 5 participants were able to successfully
complete the task while 3 were unable to complete it.
Task: Request a delivery
Observation
Some users were unable to complete the request a delivery task as they think items category should
be added so that driver would be aware of the type of items they would be conveying.
Adjustment made
As the above issue has been identified, an item category section was added which allows users to
select from a range of list, ranging from book items, food items, furniture, glass, medical, beauty, electronics etc.
Lesson learnt & next step
Designing a web and mobile application had been a challenging and satisfying journey. During this project, it was realized how important the research stage is, After in-depth research, the project become more valuable and relevant for users. It was a challenge to create the whole flow and complete application.
More research will be conducted to understand what will be required to improve the functionalities and structure of the app, therefore improved users experience.
