GAURAV KUMAR

Dr. Gaurav Kumar has recently completed his PhD and has joined the lab as a Research Associate under CSIR-Research Associate fellowship scheme. The main objective of his post-doctoral work will be to elucidate the ‘Antiviral role of RNAi components in rice against Rice tungro bacilliform virus’. His work involves the expression analysis of the RNAi and relevant miRNA genes in the in-house generated RTBV resistant rice lines followed by VIGS mediated silencing of a selected set of RNAi pathway components genes to study the effect of this silencing over the virus proliferation in host. In addition, he is also interested in studying the dynamics of interactions between his selected RNAi pathway components with the previously reported RNAi suppressors of RTBV
