Self-Evaluation
Beginning my IDET pathway towards a Masters Degree, I found myself with new opportunities that allowed me to continuously learn and grow personally, academically, and professionally. As an educator, I consistently fostered aspects to integrate technology and meet the needs of learners by providing unique opportunities. Amid my IDET pathway, I found various ways to engage learners and attain goals.
I feel confident in establishing a plan to achieve an end goal and provide learners instruction that fosters knowledge growth. I've explored various online programs, tools, training platforms, and more that can be utilized in various ways regardless of the setting. The IDET program provided opportunities that allowed me to become familiar with various platforms such as Canva, Canvas and course authoring tools including Adobe Captivate and Articulate. These tools can be utilized in training opportunities and creative marketing ventures. I enjoyed the experience of creating online courses for learners and establishing learning objectives that could be met at the end of the courses. My journey supported my understanding of Instructional Design and Educational Technologies in many ways and experienced the many ways instructional design and technology being versatility utilized throughout the world. Rather than just being aware of how IDET relates to education, I now understand how it can be utilized not only in the school system but in the corporate world and more.
Course-Evaluation
The Instructional Design and Educational Technology Masters Degree Program at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, has provided me with a plethora of creative, experimental and collaborative opportunities. The courses in the program fostered unique project-based learning opportunities. The unique hands-on learning experiences allowed me to thoroughly apply my knowledge. The program provided learners with various resources to explore and create weekly artifacts, building upon one another, establishing a stepping stone to use in future projects. Additionally, this program encompassed various learning opportunities that promote collaboration with peers. I enjoyed the unique experiences of collaborating with peers from various backgrounds and pathways such as the medical field, education and corporations. This allowed me to view how applicable IDET is in various environments. Allowing connections, and peer learning opportunities showcasing diverse ideas and unique application techniques. Furthermore, I gained various impactful methodologies, strategies, standards and models. In this program I gained a better understanding of online standards, and created an online environment that supports all learners in a Universal Design Learning environment. In conclusion, this IDET program has prepared me with applicable skills I will carry on to my current and future endeavors.
