During my tenure as an instructional facilitator and throughout my participation in the IDET master's program at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, I've consistently engaged in developing and applying instructional designs to enhance my acquired skills. The portfolio I'm presenting comprises a blend of synchronous and asynchronous instructional designs, all of which were implemented during my Instructional and academic journey. These artifacts encompass a wide spectrum of content, skills, and levels of rigor, catering to learners from K-12 to adult learners. Over the course of my instructional journey, I have leveraged a variety of technology platforms to create these artifacts. Through a combination of innovative work ethic, effective communication, and analytical thinking, my collaborative projects with SCUC-ISD have led to the annual implementation and successful utilization of the e-Learning platform and training that I designed. Here, I've spotlighted a selection of my work:
Aligned with my Practicum IDET 5397 course at TAMUCC, I invite you to explore my design journey within my practicum project proposal. Collaborating with DeeAnn Thomas, the DODEA Grant Project Director in the Student & Academic Services Division for SCUC-ISD, I assumed the roles of Project Manager and Instructional Designer. My task encompassed the creation of an integrated platform serving as a centralized hub for the district's grade level standard-based STEAM curriculum & Makerspace Kits, a virtual resource repository for STEAM, and inclusive collaborative e-tools for educators. Within this platform, valuable resources regarding STEAM/Makerspaces, insights into the DODEA Grant supporting Makerspace Kits, and details on the District's 22-23 STEMKAMP were curated. Notably, my practicum initiative has catalyzed a quarterly professional development drive for STEM/STEAM training, shaped by a thorough needs assessment, staff feedback, and a comprehensive analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, indicating a compelling demand for enhanced STEM/STEAM training.
Using Google Sites, I created a centralized platform for consolidating all DoDEA Grant information, grant-funded initiatives, district-developed STEAM curriculum, Makerspace Kits, and a comprehensive collection of STEAM-related content and resources tailored for our district. Click the button below to explore the SCUC-ISD STEAM Makerspace platform, a vital tool that the district will leverage to bolster the grant initiative and enhance STEAM utilization, fostering the development of essential "Learner Profile" skills aligned with the SCUC-ISD 2022-2026 "Strategic Plan.".
In this course, 'Internet Resources in Education and Training,' I employed Articulate to create this asynchronous online module. The primary objective of this course is to equip high school students with essential 21st-century skills necessary for success in the online environment, such as effective search techniques, privacy protection, copyright awareness, and cyberbullying prevention. This module has been specifically crafted for annual deployment within the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District. Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for students to receive their district-issued technology device for the academic year.
The highlight video and module presentation were crafted using Canva, Flipgrid, and Animaker. Each artifact was meticulously designed to enhance learning, captivate users, and offer a clear understanding of learning objectives. For additional details about the Digital Citizenship training for 9th-12th graders, please refer to the Internet Resources page.
This course, created with Articulate Storyline for SCUC-ISD high school students, promotes digital citizenship. It's has become a yearly prerequisite for using district devices and personal devices. Students need an 80% passing rate and a completion certificate to access district devices, Wi-Fi, and their personal devices. This cultivates responsible online behavior, equipping students with essential 21st-century skills like online search etiquette, privacy protection, copyright awareness, and cyberbullying prevention. The goal is to foster positive online and real-world interactions, building a strong foundation for both students and the community.
In this Instructional Hypermedia course, I developed training modules utilizing Adobe Captivate, focusing on Professional Email Etiquette for the workplace. These modules are designed to provide interactive and engaging learning experiences, incorporating checkpoints to ensure comprehension. Moreover, the design emphasizes equity and inclusion, catering to all learners, including those who prefer oral narration. For a more in-depth understanding of this design, please refer to the Internet Resource Page for comprehensive explanations and additional details.
