Future Ideas
With seven years of being a professional educator coming to an end, I am both eager and nervous to start on a new career path. An avenue I enjoy most about my current position and future endeavors utilizing this Instructional Design and Educational Technology Masters degree is the core concept of Education. As I transfer to a new career path, I know my skills will travel with ease. Throughout my IDET Journey, I have observed the flexibility of this Master's degree. There are new pathways and opportunities I didn’t know existed. I look forward to transferring my skills to the corporate world in hopes of being a part of designing online courses and professional development trainings. Providing these online opportunities directly fulfills the needs of our learners. The progression of technology has been steadily increasing. Therefore, adapting to the needs of all learners is imperative in improving engagement and is primary in E-learning.
As a life-long learner, I strive to continuously research engaging opportunities that foster different types of learners' needs. In my future designs I will implement a Universal Design of Learning platform that enhances learner engagement by providing gamification aspects such as simulations. Virtual Simulations are a great hands on experience that provides opportunities for growth in a safe and knowledgeable platform. Such as virtual simulations for future and current nurses. My sister is three-fourths way through her nursing degree program. Through various nights of helping her studying, listening to Knowledge she's obtained or experiences from her rotations. I have grown interested in the Health department and look forward to further developing my current expertise in Human development. For my project I will be correlating with the DODEA STEAM department for Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District, to provide an online platform for district employee content leaders and educators. The goal is to provide a platform for teachers to locate grade level STEAM tool boxes, showcasing informational descriptors for kits, provide an area for teachers to collaborate on kits with grow/glow tips, and online extension resources.
Goals:
Enhance online learner presence and motivation.
Provide preparation opportunities for district personnel for engagement in remote learning.
Prepare district personnel for gamification opportunities for continuous assessments.
Questions:
What are the most relatable scenarios that educators sympathize with?
What are the best gamification opportunities for my learners?
How can I provide untraditional progressive engaging assessments?
How can I provide an asynchronous online course that enables learners to be in charge of their own learning and receive meaningful obtainable instruction.
What platform will be most suitable for my learners utilizing a self-paced course with gamification opportunities?
