The Number 6
The number 666 is the Number of the Beast, and is eerie. But the number 6 is a nice number.
When we add together the numbers one, two and three criss-cross, we always get the number six. If we let the numbers 2 and 3 change places, as we would do in the quantitative approach, we still get the number six either way.
If we read Genesis, we learn that God created growth on earth, beasts of the earth, and sky lights. And there are three kinds of growth on earth, and those are corn, herb and fruit trees, i.e. grass, shrubs and trees that bear fruit. And there are three skylights in the firmament, and those are moon, sun, and stars. And there are three kinds of animals in the field, and those are creep, livestock and wild animals. We distinguish between necessity, utility and beauty. Those were created in order necessity, beauty, utility, in either case.
In an idealistic perspective, we look at the growth of the earth and the wild animals isolated. The growth on earth we perceive as our attitude, while the animals we see as our rationality. If we distinguish between man and woman, the woman will typically embody the growth on the earth, and men will typically embody the wild animals. The growth on the earth is the feminine aspect of sanity, while the beasts of the field is the masculine aspect of sanity. The plants and the animals are both of three kinds, and the Star of David, also called the seal of Salomon, illustrates the two united. The union is a hexagonal star.
It is by a materialistic perspective we will see that 1 + 2 + 3 = 6. We then perceive a necessary conception, a useful formation, and a beautiful birth, in order. And the image we would like to use on the course is that of the tree, which seems to come to life at root, stem and leaf.
In the week there are six days before the day of rest on the seventh day. Thus, in the week there are six days we are formed by. The seventh day is the day of restitution. The six days of the week is conception - growth - birth - belongingness - formation - authority if we see the week in light of the Ten Words. The last three words seen together, namely want - will - descent, is the juice of the grape put aside to become wine. Let us learn how to count our days.
