Social program

The social program of the conference will take place on Wednesday, September 12th, and will include informal excursions (or free time) and dinner. In addition, there will be an optional tour of NREL tour on Thursday, September 13th, and a welcome reception on Sunday September 9th. The number of seats available for each of these events, except the welcome reception, is limited.

Reception:

The Welcome Reception of the ICTMC-21 will take place on the evening of Sunday September 9th at the conference venue. Light refreshments and drinks will be served. The attendees will also have an opportunity to receive their badge and the registration package at that time. The even is free of charge to all registered conference attendees.

Official Excursions:

Note: the two official excursions have been cancelled due to low interest from the registered participants. Full refunds will be issued to the few registered participants. Two excursion options will be offered on Wednesday afternoon. The first option is Banjo Billy’s Bus Tour around the streets of the city of Boulder ($25 USD). The second option is a sightseeing bus tour to the mountains and the town of Nederland ($140 USD), with a few stops along the Peak-to-Peak highway to take pictures.

Informal Excursions

A few informal excursions are planned for the Wednesday afternoon free time slot (3-6pm), based on participant's interest. Possible options include a hike at Chautauqua (easy or difficult), CU Boulder Campus Tour, Downtown Boulder Brewery Tour. Happy Hour:

An informal Happy Hour will be held at Dark Horse, after the poster sessions (starting 17.00) on Monday and Tuesday. Click here for directions to Dark Horse (5 min walk from conference venue)

Dinner:

The conference dinner on Wednesday evening will be held in Fiske Planetarium located on the campus of CU Boulder (click here to learn more). The dinner will be followed by a show in the 65-foot diameter dome of the planetarium, equipped with an 8K Sky-Skan projection system. The dinner fee is $65 USD.

NREL tour:

An optional tour of National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden CO is also planned for afternoon of Thursday, September 13th (free of charge, requires early bird registration)
