Unit Enabling Objectives

3. Identify the ICS titles of personnel who have responsibilities in developing and implementing the Demobilization Plan.
4. List the major sections in a Demobilization Plan.
5. Identify the need for transfer of command or closeout.
6. Explain the process involved in a closeout meeting.
7. Explain the transition from Response to Recovery.
Methodology
This unit uses lecture, an activity, and group discussion to identify demobilization considerations for a given scenario.
The purpose of Applied Activity 7.1 is to give students an opportunity to review the threaded scenario and determine demobilization considerations.
Instructions
1. Review the information you developed in the previous activities, the scenario update, and the 5 elements of a Demobilization Plan.
2. Document 5 considerations for demobilization for the scenario using a Word document or Google Doc.
3. Based on your scenario, are there any unique demobilization release priorities?
4. Select a spokesperson and be prepared to present your work in 15 minutes.
UNIT 7: CARPENTER ROAD FIRE/EXPLOSION SCENARIO
Scenario Update:
It is now mid-afternoon on day two. The Containment Group has made great progress containing the run off and diminished the threat to materials continuing to reach the river. While monitoring will continue for several days, the immediate threats to the drinking water intakes on the Clackamas River have been mitigated. The Ops Chief feels that significant down-sizing will begin later today, and resource needs will drop off for tonight and tomorrow.
The infrastructure damage assessment has been completed. Other than minor damage to several buildings, no further damage or injuries have been reported.
The PGE substation and pole repairs are complete and traffic has been restored along Carpenter Road.
The investigation is ongoing.
Public and media interest is still high. Clackamas County Disaster Management will continue to provide support.
The company will take control of the scene using Acme Industrial Waste Disposal LLC at 1200hrs today
