The concepts of environmental flows and river health have attracted the attention of the scientific community and the public and assumed considerable significance in recent times. Unscientific and indiscriminate changes in land use, and overexploitation and irrational usage of rivers by mankind have seriously impacted flows in rivers as well as river health. This, in turn, has affected the functions and related services available in river landscapes. To counteract this trend, awareness has to be created in the scientific community, in particular, so that they can take the lead in creating public awareness. This conference aims to achieve this objective by bringing together experts from around the globe and deliberating on strategies for maintaining and restoring riverine ecosystems. Deliberations at the conference are expected to focus on latest research on enhancing river resilience, focusing on the critical roles of environmental flows and ecosystem services in sustaining river health.Â
