About Us

Yu-Jen graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Medicine of Rehabilitation. She has a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from New York University, and is a registered Occupational Therapist, although currently she is inactive. Janel attended U.C. Berkeley as an undergraduate and received her law degree from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona with highest distinction. She is admitted to both the Arizona and California bars, although she currently is an inactive member of both.

Prior to starting our own business, Yu-Jen and Janel spent 6 years mentoring high school students in the Portland area, helping them navigate the college admission process. Between the two of us, we have had five kids in college. Two of them recently graduated; one is now attending medical school and one is employed full-time. The three currently in college attend MIT and the University of Pennsylvania. Two of those are Division 1 athletes. We learned a lot going through the college and graduate school application and search process with our kids and mentoring other students.

After our kids graduated from high school in 2013, we started our own college counseling services and continued to work with students, helping them with college, graduate school, medical school, and international college applications. Since the start of our business, we have helped many students successfully get into colleges and medical schools, including, but not limited to:

We also have worked with international students to help them complete applications and satisfy Visa and other college requirements. We enjoy using our knowledge and skills to help students around the world put their best foot forward in the U.S. college application process.
