About the conference
The Third International Conference on L2 Listening (ICLL 2026) is hosted by the English Language Teaching program at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and organized by the Network for L2 Listening Research and Education. The event will take place in Campus Sausalito, Viña del Mar, Chile, on May 28–29, 2026, and is funded by Fondecyt Regular 1251060 “Metacognition and Engagement in Computer-Based L2 Listening.”
ICLL 2026 aims to promote the dissemination of completed and in-progress research studies, pedagogical reflections, classroom-based listening research, and successful practices in the area of L2 listening worldwide. It seeks to encourage discussion, generate new knowledge, and expand understanding in this interdisciplinary field.
With the theme “Individual voices & global needs in L2 listening research and education”, ICLL 2026 welcomes proposals on related topics, including but not limited to:
