ICF as a diversified GRP production compound, started a long road of excellence & perfection for the production of Contact-Molded Glass-Fiber-Reinforced Thermoset Resin Corrosion-Resistant Tanks according to the ASTM D-4097 & Filament-Wound Glass-Fiber- Reinforced Thermoset Resin Corrosion-Resistant Tanks according to the ASTM D-3299. The applications of these FRP/GRP tanks range from storage of drinking water, fire-fighting water storage, and raw water storage to containment of aggressive fluids.
Recently, the ICF engineering department spoke with one of the globally renowned companies that created the most popular programs for fiberglass FRP tank and piping makers.
For aboveground RTP tanks and subsurface FRP tanks and piping, respectively, Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) has set standards and runs Quality Assurance procedures. UL Tanks and pipework with the appropriate certifications are designated with the "UL" mark. As a result, ICF tanks are undergoing certification to seal our rigorous quality control procedures in tank manufacture.
ICF includes a thorough program of in-plant testing. We verify wall thickness and test each constructed tank for pressure tightness.
Analyses of raw materials and chemical tests are conducted routinely. The Q.C. section organizes and makes available to customers all test data and reports.
Tanks undergo two internal pressure checks. The tank is first positioned aboveground on a sand bed with no further support. After that, it is fully submerged in water for an hour and must be in perfect condition.
Second, the tank must be able to bear an internal pressure of 2 bars for diameters up to 4500MM and 2.5 bars for diameters up to 3000MM without rupturing.
FRP/GRP above & underground tanks are ideal for the
following applications:
1- Acids & Caustics
2- Solvents
3- Non-flammable corrosive fluids
4- Oils
5- Water (Potable, Raw, Fire-Fighting)
6- Septic (Industrial Effluents, Domestic Sewage)
