Dr Pratima Murthy is The Director and a Senior Professor of Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, India. She was previously the Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Head of the Centre for Addiction Medicine at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, India. She is an alumnus of Bangalore Medical College and NIMHANS. She has a Diploma in Psychiatry from the University of Manchester, UK and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Physicians, Glasgow.

Dr. Sandhya P. Koushika is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, India. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Maharaja Sayajirao University, India, and earned her Ph.D. from Brandeis University, USA. Her research focuses on understanding the cellular biology of neurons, particularly the regulation of axonal cargo transport and distribution, using C. elegans as a model organism. Prof. Koushika's lab combines genetics, molecular biology, and in vivo imaging techniques to explore topics such as synaptic vesicle trafficking, mitochondrial transport, and the development of tools to image cellular events in neurons.

Dr. Bhattacharyya earned his PhD at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), India, and completed his post-doctoral research at Stanford University, Palo Alto, USA. He holds a Master’s degree in Biophysics, Molecular Biology, and Genetics from the University of Calcutta, where he also completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physics. His lab employs a range of models, from non-neuronal and neuronal cell lines to primary neurons, and uses various techniques including cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to explore the molecular mechanisms regulating receptor trafficking in the brain. These studies have broad implications for understanding neuropsychiatric disorders and synaptic functioning in the brain.
