IAN Awards:
Jyotsnamoyee Raghunath Bhattacharya Prize
The prize is for the published research paper, including INR 5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only), a medal, and a certificate.
Eligibility: The paper should be in the field of basic/ clinical neurosciences including the disciplines of neuroanatomy, Neurophysiology, Neurochemistry, Neuropharmacology, Neuroimmunology, and Neurotoxicology. Papers published during the year of the conference or the last year of the conference will be considered. The work should have been done in India. In the case of a multi-authored publication, the applicant should be the first author and essentially be a member in good standing of the Indian Academy of Neurosciences.
Procedure: Requisite copies (generally three) of the reprint/paper marked as Paper for Jyotsnamoyee Raghunath Bhattacharya Prize should be sent to the General Secretary / Secretary (HQ) of the Academy before the last date for peer reviewing. Work on which award has been received earlier either from the Academy or elsewhere should not be submitted for consideration.
The above papers should reach the Organizing Secretary before the last date as advertised. A set of papers should also be sent to the Treasurer (Dr. Saurav Banerjee) on or before the last date. Tulsabai Somani Educational Trust Award
The award is for the best paper presented in the oral session at the annual conference of Indian Academy of Neurosciences. The award includes INR 1,500/- (Rupees One thousand five hundred only), memento and certificate.
Eligibility: The candidate / nominee should essentially be a member of Indian Academy of Neurosciences and below 40 years of age at the time of the conference.
Procedure: Requisite copies of the abstract marked as Paper for Tulsabai Somani Educational Trust Award should be forwarded to the Organizing Secretary before the last date of abstract submission. A copy of the abstract should also be sent to the General Secretary / Secretary (HQ). Work on which award has been received earlier either from the Academy or elsewhere should not be submitted for consideration. IAN Travel Fellowships
To encourage the participation of young researchers, the Academy provides IAN Travel Fellowships to candidates seeking support for attending the annual conference of the Indian Academy of Neurosciences. Up to four travel fellowships consisting of actual travel reimbursement by AC-3 tier or a maximum of INR 5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) will be available depending on the availability of funds every year. The fellowships will be provided on a competitive basis and selection will be made by the Organizing Secretary by constituting a committee in consultation with the Treasurer and Secretary (HQ).
Eligibility: The applicant/nominee should essentially be a member of the Indian Academy of Neurosciences and below 35 years of age at the time of conference. He / she should present a paper at the annual conference of IAN essentially.
Procedure: Interested persons should send an application duly forwarded by their mentors along with required copies of the abstract of the paper. They should also send a statement of about 250 words explaining how his/her participation will help in further research, a letter of support from the Guide / Supervisor, and travel cost (fare from IRCTC site may be downloaded).
