Poultry Production
Enugu state is today the 4th largest producer of poultry and poultry by-products in Nigeria. There are two modern hatcheries in the state, with combined capacity of 360,000 Day Old Chicks ( DOCs ) per month. Enugu state government has investment opportunities in hatcheries area's of parent stock farm, feed mills, meat processing and egg handling machines and equipment as well as cold storage for the processed poultry products.
Fisheries/Aquaculture Production
All known fresh water fish species are found in Enugu state. There are 14 water reservoirs and 50 lakes within 50 kilometers radius from the state capital, Enugu city for development of profitable fishery and aquaculture productions. Fish processing and drying facilities are required in order to keep up with the demand for dried fish in the United States of America (USA) and European Union countries.
