Where are we planning to hold the conference in Taiwan?
The Taiwan Biodiversity Research Institute (TBRI, GPS: 23.828671, 120.801495) is located in Jiji Township, Nantou County, in the center of Taiwan. Our institute aims to become the cornerstone of local biodiversity conservation efforts and ensure the genetic, species, and ecological diversity of Taiwan for the sustainable use of future generations.
The institute has a conference hall with 80 seats and a briefing room with 70 seats. As IAB's website noted, we assume there are 50-100 participants. These two rooms can hold two concurrent sessions or one session through the video conference. The conference hall (80 seats) can also add 20 temporary seats (only seats without tables) if needed. This way, 100 participants can join the meeting in the conference hall.

How to go to the institute after getting off the airplane?
During the conference, we will rent two 40-seat buses to pick up the participants from the Taichung HSR Station and take them to our institute and field trip. After arriving at Taoyuan International Airport, you may choose to go to the institute right away or stay overnight in Taipei City. So, the following step is to go to Taichung HSR Station from Taoyuan International Airport or Taipei.
From Taoyuan International Airport
1. Take the MRT from the Airport Terminal to Taoyuan HSR Station.
2. Take the Taiwan High–Speed Rail from Taoyuan HSR Station to Taichung HSR Station.
From Taipei
1. Go to Taipei Main Station.
2. Take the Taiwan High–Speed Rail from Taipei HSR Station to Taichung HSR Station.
The buses we rent will be waiting at Taichung HSR Station. If you prefer to go to Jiji Township by yourself after arriving at the Taichung HSR Station, you can take Bus 6333D or a taxi to Jiji County. Bus 6333D departs from Taichung HSR Station daily at 9:10, 14:00, and 19:30. It costs NTD 114 (around USD 4) and takes 60 minutes to get to Jiji County. A taxi costs around NTD 1,400 (USD 47) and takes 50 minutes to get to Jiji County.
