My name is Leigh Ann Jones, but please call me Annie. It's Mrs. Jones to the kiddos.

For my student teaching, I was fortunate to study abroad and taught fourth-sixth grade in Queretaro, Mexico for nine months in both the public and rural settings, then completed the program stateside in Chula Vista, CA in a bilingual Kindergarten class. After that, I taught Reading (Read 180) at San Gorgonio High School. I also assisted the Athletic Director with football, basketball, and wrestling during my nine years, but enjoyed coaching swimming the most. In 2012, I followed a Marine from California to Kansas after his service was complete. We married at our church, St. John of Clonmel in June 2013, and we have a little boy, Levi, who was born in November 2014. One of my recent accomplishments was completing my Master's of Education through Baker University in June 2019!

This summer, we were busy! Levi and I went to dollar movies and the Pool in Norwich. We also were able to travel cross country with my dad to his retirement home in Maine. We visited friends and family along the way and made time to see Niagara Falls, then spent 2 weeks in Maine and celebrated Canada Day in St. Andrews.

This will be my fourth year teaching at Hyde Elementary, but my 13th year of teaching (17th in a classroom-subbed between states). I'm so excited to teach this year because we will focus on fun topics like the American Revolutionary War in history, fractions and conversions in math, Space in Science, and reading stories together in our ELA curriculum of Journeys.
