A discovery that changed everything. This discovery was the first hybrid, the Hybrid Lamborghini, made by a Metropolitan scientist named Marcus Hopper. Marcus discovers this being in an abandoned Lamborghini car factory, and decides to call it “Hybrid” for lack of a better name, since this being showed human characteristics despite its resemblance to something that humans always considered inanimate. The exact appearance of The Hybrid is a mistery, but it is common knowledge that it is a Lamborghini.
Based on the discovery of the first hybrid, Marcus, in collaboration with many brilliant scientists from the Metropolis, managed to create the first hybrid breeds based on the genetics of the first hybrid. These were created for the sole purpose of continuing to investigate this new species of living beings, and Marcus protected them so that no one could trade with them or replicate them with unethical methods. These first individuals belonged to the families we currently know: Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, W Motors, Mercedes, McLaren, among others. Marcus ensured their good treatment and safety throughout the time he was in charge of the hybrid investigations.
This year the Metropolis holds elections, and the new elected president is a man named Aron Novak. Novak won the votes of the council by promising great economic and social development of the Metropolis, using hybrids as his main tool to achieve it. But he was an idiot who knew nothing about science or common sense. Novak revokes Marcus's authority as leader of the hybrid project, all in order to give the state all rights over the hybrids, allowing him to do whatever he wanted with the hybrids. Along with this, Novak proposes a series of experiments with hybrids, which Marcus cannot oppose, for his family's future depends on him maintaining his job, and his fazade.
The most infamous experiments ever performed on hybrids were those belonging to the “Vortex” initiative, a series of experiments whose main purpose was to create a substance with the characteristics necessary to forcibly control the behavior of hybrids. What was obtained from those experiments were two variants of a synthetic virus that only affects hybrids, these variants were named vx99 and vx100. The effects of this synthetic virus vary from individual to individual, and although it did not achieve its initial goal of trying to control the hybrids, the substance was strong enough to cause great ammounts of pain, fits of rage, and secretion of dark blood through eyes, mouth and nostrils. Humans cannot be infected with this virus, and to date, no definitive cure for the virus has been produced.
Tyler Hopper, Lina and Marcus Hopper's first and only child, was born on November 9, 2088 during the peak of his father's scientific career.
After Novak's rise to power, and his daring decisions during his mandate, an era began which many have come to call "The Metropolis golden age." This period that spanned 24 years was relevant due to the great economic growth that the E.M. experienced, mostly thanks to the massive international trade of hybrids produced in the Metropolis and exported to all parts of the world. At this time, people who had enough money could buy a hybrid, which was generally treated as an exotic pet, a luxury flex, a personal guard or guardian of a property, or as a work beast for heavy duty.
During this time, Marcus Hopper was presumed dead, and rumors say that he was murdered by one of the hybrids he worked with on his laboratory. Without Marcus present, there was no one to look after the few rights that the hybrids had, and the situation only got worse.
Hybrids had the same rights as animals, and although the general population sought their well-being, hybrids were still a race oppressed by humans.
The power and status of the Metropolis only grew, and it seemed that this would last forever, all thanks to the exploitation of hybrids.
…But this wouldn't last longer.
It is 2099. There are massive scapes of hybrids from the Vortex initiative laboratories. These surviving test subjects of the experiments began to spread a spark of hatred against humans among all exploited hybrids who were owned by humans. Soon, many hybrids who were fed up with exploitation and inequality unified with the same purpose, and decided to appropriate the name that humans had originally used to designate experimental subjects: They called themselves “The Vortex Cause.” This group was led by a hybrid named Neyzan. This Lamborghini Aventador called himself “The son of the Hybrid Lamborghini”, and therefore it was him who freed the original test subjects, who would later obey the will of their savior, and take revenge for the abuse that humanity has imposed on the hybrid species. The Vortex believed and trusted Neyzan's word, and made him their leader.
Neyzan would proceed to lead a brutal and bloody rebellion in the Metropolis with the purpose of freeing as many hybrids as possible, killing any human who stood in his way. Hundreds of humans and hybrids died during this war, resulting in a catastrophe that sent the M.E. on the brink of economic ruin, irreparably staining its reputation as a nation of progress.
The Vortex consumed entire cities, but failed to conquer the capitol. The Metropolis deployed its army, and forced the Vortex to retreat from the city, making the forest their new home. Since then, the European forests on the outskirts of the capital have been infested with Vortex, who patiently await the opportunity to complete their mission once more, guided by the tyrant Neyzan.
The tragedy of the Vortex accident left behind ruin, despair and uncertainty in the population. Novak decreed that all hybrids, regardless of whether they belonged to the Vortex cause or not, were no longer welcome in the vicinity of the Metropolis. The remaining hybrids were given a grace period to leave the city. After that, Novak would deploy the army, and they would kill any hybrid that remained in the city, and arrest any human who tried to hide a hybrid inside their home. This brutal purge brought discontent and disgrace to many human citizens who were very attached to their hybrids, and many of them decided to leave the city alongside their hybrids. The exile of hybrids continues.
People talk. Rumors of a thriving city, hidden deep in the forest, in the middle of Vortex territory. It is said that this is a city of humans and hybrids, that both species have learned to put aside their differences, and treat each other with respect and fairness. A city where refugees from the Vortex accident live, and despite having witnessed the horrors of the battle, they have been able to forgive.
Many believe they are just rumors. But a few claim that this city is real. And maybe a handful of them can tell you how to get there.
Eight years after the foundation of Cilt, a newcomer on this city of humans and hybrids creates expectations and inspires hope, and marks the beginning of a new era for everyone not only on Cilt, but across the neutral lands. This newcomer, is Tyler Hopper. Son of Marcus Hopper.
