Currently still in Dutch. The website will also be available in English, but whether the program will be translated into English is not yet certain.
Something completely different, but related to the Historical Weapon disciplines.
Many shooters who shoot Historical Weapons also do the air disciplines as training. The basis for shooting in general is the air disciplines. A novice shooter at most clubs will therefore start on air. But air and Historical Weapons are comparable. Okay, I know, one shoots a small lead projectile with compressed air and the other with gunpowder loaded projectile. But both have one thing in common.
The projectile leaves the barrel slowly. Most will say, yes bye, gunpowder is faster. But the ignition of the gunpowder is slow, and therefore can be compared well with air.
Do you make a small mistake? Too bad, you will be punished immediately.
That is why many Historical Weapon shooters also come across the air discipline, be it purely training but also sometimes at competitions.
Now I am also connected to social media for 10 meter air pistol and air rifle. Here I receive questions from shooters from all over the world, both beginners and advanced, for help. With my background as a trainer/coach on air for youth, I can usually help many shooters. Only many questions keep coming back.
Now the idea arose to bundle all this and create a website for beginners and advanced air shooters. The 10 meter air pistol is now ready, except for one screening. It is in English.
This website has a section dedicated to the youth, they are the future of sports shooting. The KNSA (Royal Dutch Shooting Sports Association) has set up a separate department and training courses for this. These are translated into English on this page.
To become a good sports shooter, a lot of training is needed. Most junior shooters train once or twice a week at their club. All materials are available here, such as a weapon and targets. The club trainer is also important: he or she ensures that you learn to shoot safely and that you keep improving!
