Beanstack is a digital platform that we use to log our reading throughout the school year. Students are able to participate in various challenges that will be available throughout the month, as well as challenges from the Charleston County Public Libraries with a tandem connected account. Students can compete with their friends to log the most minutes and recommend books to each other by writing book reviews! Paper logs will also be available to students who find this method easier for tracking and logging reading. Please ask Mrs. E in the library for a paper reading log.
Read Across Charleston is CCSD's district wide reading program that all students in Charleston County participate in. As a district, Charleston County has a goal of reading 45 million minutes together.
Hursey's school reading goal to contribute towards this 45 million minutes is to read 463,752 thousand of these minutes. Students that log their reading on Beanstack throughout the school year, via the platform or paper log, will receive small incentives for earning specific badges toward the Read Across Charleston program.
Students can view which badges they are earning prizes for by finding the small purple ribbon in their Beanstack accounts when viewing the challenge. These badges are also displayed in the hallway.
We can do this Bulldogs!
