My name is Bobbi Edgerton (Mrs. E), and I am the library media specialist at Malcom C. Hursey Montessori. Being a librarian has been my life's dream and I am so lucky to be a part of the bulldog family. 

I am a Charleston native! I was born in Charleston and raised in Moncks Corner, but my husband and I now live in West Ashley with our 2 huskies, Ace and Queen. We love taking the dogs to all of the parks, going to the beach, riding our bikes down the greenway, and eating way too much great food at various places around town. 

I began my career in public libraries at just 20 years old. After graduating college with my BA in English Literature in 2016 from the University of South Carolina, I immediately began working my way through my masters program in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University, and completed that program in 2021. While completing my masters, I worked full time with the Charleston County Public Library. I held many positions including circulation assistant, children's assistant, children's librarian, and circulation manager. You may have seen me at the downtown or at the Bees Ferry-West Ashley locations, but I opened the Wando Mount Pleasant Library and spent most of my public library career there in the children's department working with preschool ages to 5th grade. I was so fortunate to be able to work and gain experience with the public libraries totaling almost 8 years. In 2024, I decided that I wanted to go back to school for my teaching certificate to begin working in school libraries. I worked for one other school at CCSD before landing at Hursey! I am excited to continue working and learning with the bulldogs. 

I love being a school librarian because it is truly the best place to foster a love of reading, literacy, critical thinking skills, collaboration skills, as well as engage in creative projects and attain crucial 21st century skills. I also love being a support for our teachers and staff!
