Resident Success at Hofstra is everybody's business. Hofstra students, faculty, and staff are partners with the University in creating an atmosphere that is engaging and conducive to learning. The Resident Success program is an integral part of campus. Resident Success is a unique effort that strives to provide students with the support and engagement they deserve on a college campus. The program effectively tracks the flow of residents and guests who enter the residence halls, and ultimately creates an atmosphere of community and engagement.Â
If you have visited a residence hall, you have come in contact with a Resident Success Representative (RSR). The Division of Student Enrollment, Engagement, and Success employs about 100 students within the Resident Success Program. The RSRs are stationed in the security booth at each residence hall and they are responsible for monitoring the entrance to the residence hall and ensure that unauthorized persons do not get in.
Access to residence halls is limited to Hofstra students and their guests. Students must carry a Hofstra University ID (HofstraCard) at all times and must swipe their card in the card reader in order to enter their residence hall. Students visiting a residence hall on campus must surrender their HofstraCard and be signed in by the RSR before they can enter the building. Anyone who is not a Hofstra student is considered a guest and must surrender valid photo ID, sign in with the RSR, and be escorted into the building by their host.
