Salvia Rockin Golden Delicious
Salvia Rockin Golden Delicious is a Salvia elegans hybrid from Proven Winners. This is usually a foliage plant with attractive golden yellow leaves. For gardeners in the south who have a late first frost date or who live in a frost free zone, this plant will bloom late in the season. Here in southern Wisconsin, we forced this plant to bloom similar to the culinary Salvia elegans. Beginning in late July, we placed this plant into a dark garage at 4:30 pm and brought it outside the following morning at 7:30 a.m. The plant started to bloom in late August/early September. This was perfect timing for us with the peak of migration in our yard.
