Salvia guaranitica is a must have flower for anyone's hummingbird garden, even for those of us who live in the frigid north and who must grow these lovely flowers as annuals. The dark blue flowers are nicely offset against the black stems and calyces. The hummers love this plant and we cannot imagine not having this in our garden. We initially ordered this from mail order nurseries, but many local nurseries in Madison, Wisconsin have carried this plant. Note in this photo that there is white pollen on the top of the hummer's head. We often see this after the hummers have nectared at Salvia guaranitica.
