Salvia atrocyanea is also known as dark-flowered Bolivian sage. A hummingbird garden friend grew this from seed and gave the plant to us. This is another one of the salvias in which we dig up the root ball, place in a garbage bag in our minimally heated sunroom and provide only occasional water during the fall and winter. The next spring, we plant this in the garden and it will sprout. This has always been a late summer/early fall bloomer for us. In 2027, we will place the plant into full sun in an attempt to achieve earlier blooming.
