We, human robotics lab. conducts research studies on fundamental research on intellectualization of robot, understanding human perception-action loop based on information science, and human machine system/human robot collaboration by combining them.
Through such research studies, we are aiming to define quality of operational feeling and motion comfort in intelligent mechanical systems that have interaction with humans, such as rehabilitation robots, lower limb prosthesis, and automobile. Examples of questions are "What is comfortable vehicle motion?" "What determines operability of automobiles / construction machine?", "What determines easiness of walking with an artificial leg?" , which leads to comfortable human machine systems.
Robotics: artificially constructing sensing through motion control
