James Brown had a share of people he influenced. This includes Michael Jackson, Usher, Janelle Monae, Prince, Mick Jagger, and many more artists. Mick Jagger’s "Chicken Dance" actually became born after he attempted to dance like Brown. Usher was called “Godson of Soul” by James Brown himself, and Janelle Monae is known as being “The Modern Day James Brown”. Many of the others looked up to James Brown based on his music, style, or who he was in general. Some of them even made songs dedicated to, or inspired by him.

James Brown Statue in Augusta, GA
James Brown Statue in Augusta, GA
The James Brown Statue is located in downtown Augusta, GA on Broad Street between James Brown Blvd and 8th Street, and it was dedicated to him on May 6, 2005. This statue was able to built due to the financial contributions made by the Augusta Downtown Development, Usher -Fast Pace, Inc., Mr. and Mrs. David G. Cannon, The Augusta Chronicle, Mr. William S. Morris III, Mr. Don Bailey, and friends of James Brown.
