There are a lot of interesting facts about James Brown that we found as a group that we felt gave an additional perspective of Brown's life. We also included photos that were taken at the Augusta Museum of Art where a section is dedicated to James Brown. These pictures also include interesting information about James Brown that would not have been found simply through research while also presenting a visual.

• James Brown moved to Augusta, GA when he was young to live with his aunt.
• James Brown considered Augusta as his home and was not interested in moving to big cities like Los Angeles and New York.
• James Brown received an honorary doctorate degree from Paine College, a school in Augusta, Georgia.
• When Brown was younger, he shined shoes to earn money.
• Brown has a street named after him in Augusta.
• In November, 2007 Princeton University had a lecture conference on the study of James Brown- “Ain’t That a Groove’: The Genius of James Brown.” It was a two day conference.
• Brown recorded his song "Please, Please, Please" at a radio station in Macon, GA.
• He originally began his career as a gospel singer
• James Brown wed four times.
