2023-24 Drop off/pick up

Soft Drop Off: 8:00 to 8:15  - Students from 1st through 5th grade enter through the front main entrance of the building. Kindergarten students will enter through the back entrance by the gym, located at the end of the parking lot behind the school building.

Classes Start: 8:15

Dismissal: is at 2:45 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesday dismissal is 12:45 PM. All parents must pick up from the classroom as we can not let students walk out of the building by themselves. Kindergarten students will be picked up from the classrooms through the same door as drop off. Doors will be unlocked at 2:45.

At 3:00PM, any students who have not yet been picked up will be sent to our After Care Program. There is a drop in fee of $25 per child for Aftercare each day.

COVID policies as of August 24, 2023

We will continue to follow the guidance from San Diego Health Department and California Department of Public Health. The current decision tree guidance, found here, has a person (student or staff member) with a positive Covid 19 test returning to work or school as early as day 6 (after test or after first day of symptoms, if known) if they are feeling better, have improving symptoms, and have been fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, regardless of the results of a COVID test as long as they will wear a mask through Day 10. Students can remove their mask earlier than Day 10 IF they get two sequential negative tests one day apart. Per CalOSHA, employees need to wear a mask days 6-10 regardless.

Lunch

Free & Reduced Lunch (FRL) applications are now open for the 23-24 school year.

Breakfast and lunch meals will still be FREE to ALL students regardless of the eligibility status you receive from this application (Free/Reduced/Paid).

Even though the meals are free, these applications are used for other purposes, including qualifying our schools for better funding to support student programs. For families who do qualify for Free/Reduced, these statuses can also qualify your student for a compass pass, discounted cable, discounted yearbooks, and help save on college application and exam fees. We highly encourage all families to apply.

Submit your application at https://linqconnect.com/

If you have questions, please email us at lunch@hightechhigh.org. Detailed instructions on how to submit your application and FAQ’s are posted on our HTH Food & Nutrition website.

Sincerely,

Kelly Verburgt
