B.S Health Systems Management
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
I am Samantha Cisney and I am a Senior at UNC Charlotte and will be graduating in May of 2025. I am currently majoring in Health Systems Management with a minor in Health and Medical Humanities. In Fall of 2025, I will continue my education at UNC Charlotte in the Masters of Healthcare Administration program.
Professionally, I hope to eventually become any type of hospital administrator, hopefully in HR. My biggest goal in life is to make a positive impact on the healthcare system and I feel as though working in health management is the best way for me to do this. It will allow me to have an impact on both patients and employees.
I have been lucky to hold many leadership opportunities throughout my life. Before starting college, I was captain of my school soccer team and also section leader in both marching band and jazz band. I was also a manager at the resturant I worked in during my senior year. Since starting college, I have been involved in a couple different organizations. I was on the leadership team for Christian Students at UNCC helping with marketing and events. I was also philanthropy co-committee head for Alpha Omega Epsilon before becoming Membership Educator, and then moving to my current position of President.
I was lucky to have the chance to shadow a Physical Therapist who worked in Home Health care. This was an eye opening experience since I was shadowing during the pandemic and getting to see first hand how being able to recieve proper health care was impacting peoples lives.
I am excited to see where Health Systems Management takes me in my future and I look forward to seeing how my peers and I can make an impact on healthcare!
My friends and family are the most important part of my life. They are my support system in everything I do. I have a twin sister and she is easily my best friend. I have always been very focused on the relationships I have and am so lucky to have the support system that I have.
I am currently the president of Alpha Omega Epsilon, which is a social and professional sorority for women in STEM and Engineering. This organization pushes me to my fullest potential and the women that I work with in this group are some of the most inspiring people I have ever been with.
I have recently been enjoying art and photography to help me practice self care and prioritize work life balance. These along with reading are my favorite ways to de-stress after a long day and ensure that I am feeling my best.
