Pride Month runs throughout the month of June, celebrating those who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
It is celebrated each year during the Spring to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots. This was an event that occurred in a gay bar in Greenwich Village (lower Manhattan) when it was raided by police. These riots lasted five days, and sparked the gay rights movement in America.
